About the event
We think we know about breathing because we do it moment by moment every day and
night. Yet many of us are not breathing as well as we could, with the result that we’re not
feeling as fit, well or happy as we could.
This workshop will look at what suboptimal as well as optimal breathing look, feel and sound
like. If so many of us are not getting something as simple as breathing quite right, why is
that? What is the most common misconception about ‘taking a deep breath’?
We will also take a closer look at some of the areas of health and wellness most commonly
linked to poor breathing such as anxiety and panic, breathlessness at rest and during light
exercise, sleep disorders and snoring. And we’ll take a look at reasons why breathing better
can have a positive effect on multi-system conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
and Long Covid.
You will have the opportunity to evaluate your own breathing efficiency using a very simple
test that we will demonstrate to you. You will also learn some breathing exercises which you
can use to retrain your breathing or to use as interventions when needed.
